Most business owners are desperate for the next sale. And they’re scared because Instagram isn’t working as well as it used to.
It’s getting harder to grow and get seen on social media.
But you know what actually drives long-term revenue?
Being so good that your current clients can’t stop talking about you.
If you want to stand out and scale, then you need client-obsessed systems. And in this blog post, I am breaking down the 3 most important things you should be doing to have repeat customers – and referrals flowing to you every week.
Strategy 1: Onboarding That Feels Like VIP Treatment
Never let the credit card email be the only thing they get when they purchase! Oh. my. word. This is such a fail for entrepreneurs.
The confirmation email or the credit card receipt? Girls, that’s the bare minimum.
You need an onboarding experience that says:
“You made the right choice – and you’re about to love what’s coming.”
It should feel celebratory and warm! After all, they just pulled out their credit card and trusted you with their money. So roll out the welcome mat with these strategies:
Your onboarding should include:
- A warm welcome email or video from you
- A branded email series or Flodesk workflow that let’s them know what’s coming and how to ge the most out of their purchase
- Access info delivered clearly and quickly with very clear instructions of there where, when, and how to get their purchase
- Bonus tip: Send a voice note, hand written thank you note, or personalized DM!
If you drop the ball here, you’re starting the relationship with confusion. Not confidence.
The larger the purchase, the more well built out the welcome experience should be. For The Success Squad, we have a 12-part framework we have designed to ensure every woman feels:
- Absolutely confident in her decision
- Valued as a human being
- Excited about what’s ahead
Did it take time to build this out? Absolutely. But when women in the Squad say their onboarding experience was a 10/10, we have started a beautiful relationship on exactly the right foot.
Strategy 2: Serve the Heck Out of Them While They’re With You
This is where you stand out.
While everyone else is focused on the next launch, you stay obsessed with the people already inside.
Too many people right now are doing the bare minimum. They think: “They bought my offer. I delivered my offer. So what? Why would I do more than that?”
This tells me the business owner isn’t going to make it in a crowded, over-saturated marketplace.
We want to go above and beyond if we want repeat business and referrals comin’ out our ears!
How?
- Be faster than expected
- Be warmer than expected
- Be clearer than expected]
- Deliver more than was expected
- Use check-in emails, private messages, weekly reminders, and post-purchase sequences to stand out from the crowd
- Give them additional tools and resources to help them get even more out of what they just purchased
This is how you outpace your competition – and build a brand people can’t help but talk about.
Strategy 3: Offboarding That Feels Like a Warm Hug from Olaf
Too many people ghost at the end of a program or offer. Don’t do that.
End strong with:
- A thank-you message (email, DM, or physical note)
- Clear reminder of the transformation they’ve experienced
- A next step offer (membership, follow-up course, referral program, etc.)
- A surprise gift or bonus download they weren’t expecting
People don’t forget how you close out your time with them.
Leave a sweet, sweet taste in their mouth.
BONUS: Use Systems to Help You Stay Obsessed
You don’t have to do all of this manually (though you should at first until you know you’re nailing it.)
Set up workflows to help you automate the admin so you can focus on the relationship.
Smart tools to use:
- Flodesk workflows for onboarding and offboarding
- Templated emails for check-ins, reminders, and thank-yous
- DM templates or text replacements to save time but keep it warm
- Zapier to connect everything and run like clockwork
Right about now, a lot of women say things like: “Kelly, why is no one talking about this?”
I get you. It’s because in the post-COVID social media boom, everyone wants to talk about how to grow on social media. But it’s like we forgot about how to grow a business outside of social media.
I teach you how. Because I’m obsessed with strategy.
And the old fashioned business principles still work. So let me ask you, what happens if you keep chasing social media trends, trying to stay relevant, posting nonstop but not seeing tons of results?
What happens to your business if things keep going the way they have been?
I hope you’re ready to do something different so you can have dependable, algorithm-proof, consistent business results.
Are you ready for that? Ready to grow without working 24/7?
Inside The Success Squad, I’ll help you set up client-obsessed frameworks that increase revenue and free up your time. Plus, learn a framework for your weeks that will grow your business while you work less.
You’ll never have to worry about the algorithm again.
